Summer Transfer Window 23/24

So what you are saying is that even if Salah himself stated publicly that he doesnt want to leave Liverpool in this transfer window, those would be meaningless empty words?
I'm saying his agent, his 'public voice', saying they are happy at Liverpool is enough for me. The club have said he isn't for sale. End of as far as I'm concerned.

Then I am puzzled as to why you think what he says would be meaningless empty words. That statement doesnt make much sense to me unless you believe that he might say that and then still transfer anyway.

All words are meaningless ultimately. He's not a local lad that's grown up supporting Liverpool. What his agent says and what Salah thinks are one and the same. The club/Klopp have said as far as they are concerned the matter is closed, I dunno why people want Salah to go beyond the norm for a footballer, it's bizarre.

But surely, by that logic, if all words are meaningless then what his agent says and what Dom says are also meaningless. Yet you appear to place value on them but not on what Salah himself says? Thats bizarre to me

You either believe it when these things are said, in which case it's already been said by his agent (and others) anyway and doesn't need adding to or you don't believe it, in which case Salah himself repeating it makes no difference.

That could be the crux of it yeah, you either believe it unwaveringly if a 3rd party says it or you dont I guess. My personal view is that he will go, not now but definitely within the next 2 transfer windows, more than that, I actually think that he does want to go but at this time he doesnt want to burn any bridges by stating where he stands either way, or in summary, sometimes inaction is the best way to keep in everyones good books.

I put more worth on the club stating he isnt for sale regardless, i think the only time they've done that in recent memory was the Suarez to arsenal saga.
definitely within the next 2 transfer windows
Next summer for sure we'll entertain offers, even then im not sure its the right thing to do. He may be turning 32 end of the season but he's got a good 4+ years in him at the elite level imo

I think the money is just too useful, especially in light of the defence overhaul that will be needed next summer, we'll need at least 1 CB and a FB (maybe even 2) most likely and they wont come cheap. 200m would go a long way toward that.

I truly think that the club has said that not because of the transfer but because of the timing of the transfer, we'll never know now but I'd be willing to put down some money that had they offered 150-200m for Salah at the start of the transfer window we'd have taken it. The timing of their offers is, imo, more of a driving factor in why we said no rather than anything else.

According to l'equippe the only reason Mbappe is back in the squad is because he's waived the 100m loyalty bonus he was due to receive, hes not signing a new contract and has no intention to either. RM bound!
