Summer Transfer Window 23/24

James Milner joining Brighton 1 year deal. Experience could help them in Europe, and his fitness level is still extremely high (saw some stat the other day he is right up there in terms of distance covered per game).

Where would he even play for Arsenal?
I think he'd offer rotation for all of Odegaard, Jesus, and Xhaka's replacement, plus Martinelli (in that Jesus could move wide when he's rested). Or he might just be Xhaka's replacement.

I think he's quality - he's been in an awful Chelsea team for a year, and has largely been played up front, which is not his best position since his first season, when he was very good and won the CL. Put him in a good side and he'll shine.

Previously chelsea signings have been abysmal for arsenal however jorginho broke the mold and was really good end of the season. Hopefully havertz follows suit

Gallas was decent until he had his little sulk. Cech was fine. I'd argue that David Luiz wasn't as awful as people have make him out to be - he brought leadership and was solid except when he wasn't, and then he really wasn't.

None have been great, but the only real let down was Willian.

I thought loans weren't included, so has to be 3 years without loans before 21. If you'd loaned him to an English club he'd be homegrown for England but not Arsenal specifically for CL. So Saliba won't count because he's only spent one year in England. He's French homegrown and club homegrown to Saint-Etienne. Martinelli will be though because he's spent that time at Arsenal.
I'm not sure if the rules are different with UEFA but overseas loans still count towards homegrown status with the PL. Taiwo Awoniyi is listed as homegrown on Forest's PL squad list - he was signed by Liverpool at the age of 17(?) but spent 6 years on loan overseas as he couldn't get a work permit to play here.
