Summer Transfer Window 23/24

You can't say that Chelsea aren't quite good at getting rid of their players. Havertz is a decent player but he hasn't come close to living up to his transfer fee or potential. Amazed he is going for more than £40-50m.

Where are we even expecting him to play? He won't play in the front 3 in place of our existing players and I don't think he's someone who would play deeper in midfield. We still need a striker and another central midfielder so the price seems quite expensive for what looks to be a squad player who hasn't got any sort of form over the last couple of years.

You have champs league next season and you’ll need strength in depth to compete on both fronts.

Surely he's your left central midfielder instead of Xhaka? He'll have to work back, but it's a much more attacking than defensive role, particularly with Zinchenko slotting into the LCM position when you have the ball

I just can't see him being effective in that role, admittedly I've only seen him for Chelsea though.

Romans gone but somehow Chelsea still manage to shovel the **** out the door with very little loss on the original outlay. I still think Arsenal aren't going to be top 4 next year with or without Rice.

Yeah i agree with that. Newcastle are in the champions league now and with the finances they have will more than likely stay there. So
you have 4/5 team’s fighting for two spots. Liverpool will come good i think United will be strong again and then you have Chelsea.

40m seems like a better price for Havertz imo, 65m seems steep for him to me, especially as a fit into the Arsenal team. Obviously you cant match like for like deals, its not that simple, but Havertz being 2 x Mac Allister doesnt seem like a good deal or possibly the Mac Allister price was simply that good. Tbh, if Arsenal end up paying 65m for Havertz and 100m for Rice then I'd say they've been ripped on both deals.

Yeah £65m is too much. £40m maybe.

So I believe the idea is to play 4-1-4-1. Rice holding fort with Martinelli, Odegaard, Havertz and Saka in a line behind Jesus. Zinchenko pushing up and inside to help Rice in the middle.

Not saying this is a good idea but that seems to be the plan. If they don't get Rice it would have to be Partey.
