Summer Transfer Window 23/24

Our summer transfer is getting rid of the Glazers and that is it.

Maddison tanned to the max. Couldn't wait to get on the beach after relegating Leicester. Mentality match made in heaven for Spurs.

What was the alternative? Sitting at home in England, playing football manager and wondering what had gone wrong?

Pretty much every top-level footballer goes on holiday almost immediately after the end of the season, whether they had a good or a bad one. It's pretty much one of the only extended periods of the year they get to themselves/family.

Its going to be a last minute thing. The Glazers really are the worst thing that ever happened to the club in recent history. Run the club appallingly from everything but a commercial standpoint and I'm not convinced they did that particularly well either. Now they are making a mess of one final transfer window before they **** off for good. Absolute parasites. This should have been sorted before the end of the season.

Ah but where's the fun in that?!, much more enjoyable to have a pop at ones commitment to the sport by pointing out the audacity to go on holiday once a year.

I agree, I'm not going to hold a tan against a player, June is peak holiday season for footballers, it's not like he jetted off mid-season whilst Leicester were still training / preparing for matches. In fact if you read interviews from managers they say stuff like "The players need to enjoy their break".

It's always funny when players talk about their new club. They basically all say the same thing. Media training I guess.
I don't even bother reading/watching those interviews. As soon as I see an article badged up with a big overly smiling face, Arsenal kit with optional arms raised I'm skipping straight past.

If someone told me they would be gone by the end of the window but no players would come in. I would accept that.

saudi will pay a pretty penny for partey
Problem is I think he wants to join Juventus who will only pay £17m. I think that's too low for a player of his calibre who isn't entering the last year of his contract and won't turn 31 until after the season is over.

I'd say in terms of sales Arsenal should prioritise Tavares and Pepe. I don't really see a future for Pepe with the arrivals of Troussard and Havertz this year.
Xhaka out for £13m to Leverkusen, I think probably makes sense given his contract expires at the end of the season, although you could argue off the back of a decent season they should be pushing for £15m+

Glad we didn’t sign Maddison now. Don’t be wanting any of those holidaying types round the club. I like him thoigh, would have improved the team which is the main thing. Despite him being linked for 18 months I never felt Newcastle were super keen on him. Offers being equal I think he would have chose Newcastle but it doesn’t matter now.

Leicester players were on one long holiday all season. Utterly shambolic that those players got relegated.

He didn't have a choice about his pigmentation or how easily he tans, but he could and did choose to avoid the scum :D

Not that big a deal, personally I don't think he's the game changer some pundits make him out to be. It's funny, though, how upset some of the Geordie nation are that he snubbed them.

Spurs have certainly missed a creative player since Erikson went off the boil then left and Alli turned into a Sunday league player. Maddison should be really good for them.
