Man of Honour
I'll take a treble this season with all the new signings needing some adjustment time.
Going for the quadruple obviously
This and knocking spurs out of one of the cupsI'll take a treble this season with all the new signings needing some adjustment time.
So missing out on the league, cl and fa cup thenI'll take a treble this season with all the new signings needing some adjustment time.
So, when do we get to hear what Arsenal fans predictions are for next season. Got to be some serious silverware at some point after a few years of big spending.
Man U specialSo missing out on the league, cl and fa cup then
Seriously though, for the quoted price picking up timber is some cracking bit of business
I hear this a lot but I'm not convinced its the most important tactical aspect. You could put Maguire in front of Allison, Ederson and he's still be pants at progressing the ball and pushing the team up the pitch. Our biggest problem isn't the fact that DDG is a bit rubbish with the ball at his feet it the fact that we don't score enough goals and out play in the last third is pedestrian unless we are counter attacking. Mount might help this a bit but Onana will have little impact. I would have bought a striker and another CB before a goalie this season. We scored 58 league goals last season - City got 94. Only Villa and Fulham from the top 10 scored less.Yeah he does seem to have mistakes in him but so does DDG. He is super confident as well which is vital for a United no1. DDG has made plenty of big mistakes recently as well. He doesn't save as many shots as he should as well because his positioning is poor. Onana would be a big upgrade even if he does make a few mistakes. People underestimate how important and progressive keeper is to the top sides these days. It enables the whole team to play a different style of football.
You could see in the CL final how useful he was in breaking Citys press. DDG has an astonishing ability to pick out the opposition with every pass over 10m. Having someone who can pick a pass from deep is vital.
Hojlund. Yeah he is but its all a bit vague at the moment. Not many other options it seems. Kane is Bayern bound or will be at Spurs until next summer. Osimhen is going to cost £100m+.
There honestly is a bit a drought of elite strikers at the moment
They’d all just bash it past Maguire, instantly improving the team.I hear this a lot but I'm not convinced its the most important tactical aspect. ...and there is always a drought of elite strikers hence why we've had to resort to players at the wrong end of their career or second tier loans. We should just pay the money for the Atalanta kid. He's young, robust , two footed and wants to come. Plus he won't be commanding totally silly wages. Arsenal just forked out £60m for Havertz and he doesn't make the top 30 for EPL goals last season. Hojlund will score more with his arse than Havertz.
Yeah but look at the shambles that is the club sale etc. Last season only went well because we panicked and bought at the last minute, that does hopefully appear to be changing now.We all know that, I’ve just noticed that pretty much every post is you talking down about the club.
Last season was a positive one less of the doom and gloom.

What team press the back line with 4-5 players. Go full NFL blitz? With so much of football nowadays, its not the direct impact, its the tactical impact. Will teams press your back line with 4-5 players if you keeper can pick a pass over the top of them.
What team press the back line with 4-5 players. Go full NFL blitz?
If a team is pressing a back line with 4-5 players you just lump the ball into the space they left. Don’t need to be accurate!!
Wouldn’t agree with that. Normally a good press is started 1 person closing down the player with one or two cutting out the passing lanes. Yes the whole team might sit high but that’s more to win the second ball if the defending team has to get rid quickly.Plenty of teams will commit that many players to a press. The whole team will usually be high up the pitch at that point but thats not uncommon. 2-3 is unlikely to work when you have 4 defenders, a GK and a DM potentially back there. Depends what you are trying to achieve.
Yes, currently a one man press worries DDG but fingers crossed that will change.
