Summer Transfer Window 23/24

I do wonder if thats actually going to end up being TOO much change in Liverpools midfield, thats a lot of midfield which is going to have to gel quickly.
Yea, it's not ideal and we've got to move for a new dm (or 2) ASAP so that they've got at least most of pre-season to bed in. It wouldn't be so much of an issue if Thiago (assuming he doesn't leave) and Bajcetic were fit but right now we literally have nobody who could play as the 6 and whoever we sign is looking like they're going to have to go straight into the side on day 1.

Someone in the new midfield is going to have to be a strong leader too, with Milner, Henderson and to a lesser degree Fabinho going, thats a lot of leadership in the middle gone. So one or more of the newcomers are going to also have to not be wary of grabbing the shouting/yelling mantle with both hands.

Looks like Maxi gone 35million and addons.

Barnes straight in. Maxi sale probably opens up room for Livermento and probably 1 more around the 40m mark. Could do with a CB

Snip beat to it :)

I'm not sure you specifically need midfielders to do that tbf but it's a job somebody is going to have to take on. The likes of Trent, VVD and Robertson are probably the 3 most likely to step up in that regards. What will be harder to replace is their leadership off the pitch. Henderson and particularly Milner were the standard setters every day in training and I'm less sure VVD or Robertson are the characters who will take on that role. I get the impression both prefer to be one of the lads.

Who knows with this summer but you've got to assume that Thiago will stay now and although not a ranter and raver, his leadership is underrated. I can remember his first ever 45 mins for us when he came on at HT (in the 6 as it happens) away to Chelsea and he talked Keita through the entire half. That type of leadership and experience will be invaluable for not just the new signings but players like Jones, Elliott and Bajcetic.

I disagree. What made Liverpool great was no one had figured them out. After a stagnant period of transfers Liverpool became predictable. Klopp knows what he is doing and now is the perfect time for clubs to rape the Saudis for all they are worth and spend it on refreshing squads.

He can’t play the way Howe wants to.
I've been saying for years Howe is one of the best coaches/tacticians going when it comes to articulating a philosophy, he's probably the best manager I've seen on MNF (back when Bournemouth got promoted in 2015). I think Newcastle would be wise to give him free rein to execute his plans.
