Meslier, signing of the season for Arsenal.

Just reiterates the point, life as a 3rd choice keeper is the best job in the world. For Arsenal's sake, lets hope he never gets near the starting lineup!

I don't know. I would prefer first or second. If you're coming to the end of your career and you don't care then yeah, cushy job but you probably don't get paid that well. Second choice you might get cup games or if you're lucky the first choice gets injured. If you're in your prime though you will get poor wages and never really get a good chance to further your career or maximise your potential or earnings.

What is 'not getting paid that well' for EPL footballers? £20k a week?

Why do teams keep giving money to Chelsea for tat. So annoying.

How will Spurs get round FFP? They are already one of the top spenders in the last few years and have done terribly for the last 2 seasons.

While the fee seems high, bit harsh to call a 22 year old ‘tat’! Will be intriguing to see how he develops under Carrick.

Based on our purchases from Chelsea i reserve the right to call all Chelsea sales tat until proven otherwise. He couldn't even get a game for them so how's he suddenly worth 50 mil?

Fair dos! But your guess is as good as mine! We’ve not had the best track record with Chelsea. Mata is the only one who stands out to me, if memory serves me right.

He played over 2400 mins for them last season. He's behind two 100m+ midfielders in Caicedo and Fernandez.
