Summer Transfer Window 26/27

I love Bruno, we are noticeably worse without him however he was part of that squad who put in so many miserable performances last season. If him going this early is part of the grand rebuild plan, then I'm all for it. If we are to continue with the policy of the current regime of getting rid of players and replacing them with worse ones then the season will be a complete disaster.

Think I’ve said before that the squad ran its course. It’s went wrong off the pitch with 3 directors of football over a space of time that the revamp should have taken place.

Howe could very well have been the cause of that having the biggest say on who says and goes. That’s quite clearly changed this season as it appears Howe has been reined in after threatening the club around the time of the English job.

What we didn’t want to happen was 4 of our biggest player’s leaving in a space of a year.

That’s a major overhaul.

I was happy enough to see Sandro go as he was basically Bruno’s legs. ( recovery speed).

Look at the Brazilian team in the World Cup. They had the same issue. Midfield was wide open same with him and cassmerio.

Bruno is our only baller tho and an extremely good one at that but he needs a Longstaff a Joelinton or a Sandro in top physical form.

Yeh controversial take, but, maybe this is what we “need” to do for the greater good.

Bruno is 29 this year ? We have had a habit of just keeping players until the 30s and then with no resale value.

You can argue we are being “ruthless” in the sense of ok cool you have give us good value now we will see you before it’s too late and rinse another massive fee.

Or you can say we are showing no ambition by just selling anyone that is good and buying unknown kids.

I feel like long term the overall squad rehaul is needed therefore this is a necessary part to all of this.

I just wish we could sell everyone else except Bruno lol but I get it, it’s our last chance for a big fee for him and it’s his last real opportunity to get a bigger move for himself.

I have no ill feeling towards the move, it’s kind of good for everyone in very different ways.

Although, we need to keep making moves in the transfer market if we sell Bruno as well it needs to be backed up by another 2/3 signings coming in for them to even spin it as a positive for the future.

Let’s not sugarcoat this to try and make his leaving ok, just because he lacks legs or put in some abject performances last season!
Losing the heartbeat of our team is and will be an utter disaster, we don’t win games without Bruno( won something like 5 league games in 3 years without him), there is no way we can replace him without paying more than we receive, and I really don’t trust Howe to replace him, especially after he wasted a 1/4 of a billion last summer.
Bookmark this, no Bruno means we will or will come very close to going down this season.

Well yeh as things stand.

But again, the club selling these big players needs to be very much backed up like I said by another 2/3 signings at least.

Otherwise the management are setting the club up for 17th place finish if we are lucky judging from last season. The clock is ticking on the ownership now really of that is the case.

Even the most clueless ownership must realise like wow we should really get a few more played in if we sell anyone we had that is good.

Ross Wilson and co it’s all on them from now on really

I’m not it’s just mess we are in. We got lucky with Bruno and Isak. Some of the best players we ever had but at the wrong time.

We don’t have the financial powers to keep these players if we can’t offer Champions league football.

Howe lucky to be in the job after last summer and season but there’s a shift in a transfer strategy. He’s seen off two director of football doubt he has that power now.

It seems from most the stories Bruno would like to leave but only if the clubs can agree. Not a snowball chance 60m gets a deal done.

Also, are all this transfer moves supported by Howe I wonder or are the club preparing for post Howe already ?
100% us going for PL proven left us scrambling and in a mess last summer. Going after players that were clearly not going to us.

Seems we also trying to be smarter with the budget. I don’t believe that Dutch teenager counts towards Squad cost ratio. Only the agent fees do. (Could be wrong)

Bruno is clearly a decent (but dirty) player but he's getting on and not 100% where he fits in. Even at 60 mil seems like a lot.

You need to be getting £80+ for Bruno if he is leaving. Hes a top player and super important to you. You can't lose this many of your key players without rinsing teams for them. Losing two of your core and best midfielders in one window could be a disaster.

I think Newcastle need to be realistic about their ownership. PIF are no longer willing to pour money down the drain for just prestige and bragging rights, they want to see profitable investments that provide a return.

My thoughts.. never heard of the guy lmao. 50m? Wtf

I guess cheaper than over 100m for Anderson.. good business potentially. Two midfielders for the price of one.

Similar thoughts....

Not sure about the signing to be honest, however looking positively at it. He's 22, has 30 premier league games so not just arriving from Spain or Brazil etc... We've potentially got 2 players for under 90 million - Anderson has looked very underwhelming at World Cup for me despite a good season at Forest.

I think overall, wait and see. United can't/won't fall back into the trap of paying £100 million for a single player, it's just not going to happen after some of the recent disasters.

Got to give him a chance at least. Still think we need another proper striker as Sesko is the only proper out and out forward.

Still waiting to see what they do with Rashford post World Cup - I think that is one of the biggest things they need to sort.
