Summer weather thread 2024

I’m starting this thread because I’m getting fed up of reading posts about people complaining of heatstroke every time a ray of sun appears.

So this thread is strictly a moan free zone about the 2024 summer weather being too hot (the 40c+ weather of 2022 being a possible exception). Moaning about the weather being poor is also permitted.

Although it’s summer, I still feel like I’m starting it before summer as it’s been so bloody awful and it doesn’t look like much of an improvement right into July. Still, weather can change rapidly and long term forecasts are very often just a load of guess work.

So if you want to discuss the summer weather in a positive eskimo free zone, this is the thread for you.

If it was less overcast, this last week would have been perfect for me, with highs of ~18C.

Personally, my optimum summer weather is about a sunny 25C

I wonder why we’ve gone into a lull lasting 2 years now. When you consider the Dante’s inferno that was 2022, the sudden change is incredible

Apologies for the lack in clarification.

As this is a thread for people who enjoy the summer and warm weather, then moaning about it being too cold will be tolerated.

And as for the likes of CaptainRave, if you don’t like it, just move along and ignore the thread. Besides, I actually had quite a few posters suggest I create this thread so we could have a thread with a more positive tone. The too hot and too cold threads are silly and fragmented imo.

Anyway, threads here and hopefully it’s staying.

Yeah usually 3/4 bank holidays it's camping. But with the cost of camping and thr dire weather it's just not worth it. Most be hurting tourism a lot

If I had your lifestyle I’d definitely invest in a nice motorhome

You haven’t stopped. Every single post saying the weather is gonna be nice gets a sad reaction from you.

As am finding it really hard to deal with very hot days at work these days.

No, I don’t work due to disability. A proper one, not the odd niggle in the back

London could be hitting 30 by Wednesday. I love warm/hot weather but even for me, 30 is as high as it needs to go. Anything over and I think everyone apart from the sun worshipping die hards starts to struggle a bit

Agreed, feet are awful looking things, toes in particular creep me out.

I hope you mean placing a wrapped up ice pack on yourself rather than the image I had of being starkers like Rob with a strategically placed ice pack in a certain area

I don’t care how warm it is, no ice packs ever gonna touch my bits and pieces. Any more shrinkage and it will disappear
