I'm starting to think I can put the AC unit away for the winter now. Can't see us having any more hot enough weather now.

Had a bumble bee a small one sat on one of my dwarf sunflowers for about 7 hours.

I checked with a torch and it's still there.


I did some research and it seems the males leave the hive in search of a female and never return.

spending most of their days sitting on flowers drinking nectar and hoping a female will come along, only 10% of them will ever find a mate.


Says the males have no stingers btw, at least for bumble bees

Bumblebees are so cute and fat.

Oh looky, its raining again... I don't think we've had a rain free day here for 2 weeks.

Worst Summer I can remember TBQFH

Yeah, worse one I can remember as well. This year has been utterly dreadful.
There's been the odd day here and there with the standard silly hot day thrown in for good measure.

When you look over the season, it's generally been grey, windy and rainy.

Last year we must have been getting on for around ten BBQs. This year we've had one.

My winter coat even came out in July FFS! Oh, and we switched on the central heating

Was 6 Celcius this morning here in Rishton. Then the Sun poked out and it's shot up rapidly to 23c now. Glorious couple of Days.
Bit of rain Sunday evening till Wednesday then Sunny at 20c next weekend.

Still getting a lot of solar gain indoors even though the outside temperature isn’t very high (peak of 16c today according to a local weather station).
