Does any one have this, and does it work as discribed?
All I want to do is have it connected to my HDTV via HDMI and use my usb 32GB stick to play my 720p HDTVx264(MKV) files on
I`m not bothered about recording or streaming just want to play my downloads for the rest of the family in the livingroom rather than burning to DVD all the time for them to watch there favourite tv episodes.

i have a similar Sumvision product, the Cyclone Primus, in my bedroom. No network connection, but can have an SATA drive installed into it.

Menu system is a bit basic , but it has played everything I have wanted it to. I imagine the above is based on the same tech, but with a few different options

The Primus is £40 by the way, and something to consider if you dont care about networking?

If you arent too bothered about a dodgy remote, and dont want network or hard drive space, look at the Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2, which is a shade over £20

I have got this player, and it's great, it's played everything I've thrown at without a hitch, you can swap the firmware to another model as well, I've changed mine as it's made the menus etc quicker.

It's a lot cheaper on the electricity as well compared to a HTPC, as well as a lot smaller.

Does DTS and Dolby via Optical S/pdif so you can plug into your amp.

I've got it plugged into my router now and use it as a streamer with the shared files off my network, USB HDD etc work perfectly though.

One thing I will say though it runs super hot as it doesn't have a cooling fan, but i purchased a little netbook cooler from poundland which does a lovely job.

I recommend it.
