Quick question.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AV-000-SV&tool=3
Just got one of these for the spare room. Great for watching AVI / DIVX films etc on from DVD. Also very usefull to be able to insert your memory cards and USB flash drives and see things (films and photos etc) on there on screen as well.

BUT...I bought it for one reason mainly

I have a external HD inside a caddy that is mains powered and then USB to computer. I put a load of films and photos onto the HD and plugged it into the USB port on the DVD Player and it would not reconise the USB device. Anyone know why or how I can get round this as I would really like to be able to have a load of stuff on the HD attached to the dvd player

thanks

I think it is something to do with the formating of your disk as the DVD player does not like large disks(FAT32?)

yep, dont know how big your drive is but im sure i saw on some site a guy got it to work with 500 gig split in half.

i think you have to format it in fat, which may mean you have to split it up into 32 gig or less.

Whats your opinion of the player as im looking at grabbing one :)

ill tell you when i sort out getting the HD to work. But as for a DVD player, it is top notch really is for the money

i'll be in touch

OKAY it works... Perfectly

All I had to do was change my external HARD DRIVE (80GB) from NTFS to FAT32 File format type. Works fine now.

I have loads of films on the HD which play and look perfect on the tv. Great DVD player for the money.

So any films I download from the net (free ones of course) I simply put onto my HD and watch on the TV now

great
