Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6

I haven't done it, but one of my colleagues at work has. It seemed to be incredibly easy if you've done any regular work in Java. A lot of the questions are very Java specific though, so if you haven't worked in Java it will probably be quite hard.

SCJP is a target of mine to complete by year end. a lot of people i work with have done it and it isnt too hard. if your already programming in java, you should be fine. it just takes a lot of practice with example code because there are a lot of 'odd' and not so common rules in java.

i got a call recently about a scheme with run by the government called the train to gain scheme, that gives up to 60% off training. so it might be something out look out for.

oh and there are also promotions that allow you to take the exam a second time if you fail the first time round

I've recently just done the SCJP, and it shouldn't be taken lightly by any means, there are many many pitfalls you need to be aware of.

My advice is to look for some mock questions especially a set by a guy called Devaka.

I did pass, but I wouldn't call it easy, the questions do try to mislead you.
