I think that used to be the case, not so much now, maybe the opposite. Tbh most people look better with a tan, I know I do. Enjoy the sun, wear some sunscreen(maybe not spf50), get a bit of a tan plus the health benefits of being out in the sun. Everything in moderation is the key.

Id imagine it differs between demographics/continents. It looks more attractive is probably more accurate, because lets be honest it does. That was what I was saying with regard to looking better, nobody wants to get it on with a vampire. In Asia, go to any make up section and they will make you lighter, not “darker”. For the reason I stated above.
The idea that tan looks healthier is a misplaced conception. It’s just the western society have this mindset but medically speaking, it’s skin damage so….by definition it’s not healthier.
You can get Vitamin D without getting a tan, if that’s the health benefit you are after.

I do take Vit D in the winter, no reason to do it in the summer though when it can be absorbed naturally, not to mention the mental health properties from the sun.
Absolutely. I think I look better with a bit of colour on my skin but I don't care what skin tone a woman is, if she is attractive, she is attractive. But we all know the definition of attractive differs between cultures, and in Asian, especially SE Asia, pale = beautiful.
