HI,

Just wondering, and whats the general concensus on this?

I'm thinking of doing some external qualifications outside of work to boost my qualifications, and also looking into the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist course as well (just excel for the now)...

Has anyone done these, and any thoughts on these courses?

I know someone (well, actually I took his job where I am developing) spent months and months and months studying for Java cert... got it all passed flying colours... now he's a .NET developer :D

I wouldn't bother personally. I consider myself language agnostic. C++ Java Web technologies (html/js/css/php/j2ee/xml) Used to program BASIC as a kid too on A500 computers.

lol A500, sadly remember them, had an A3000/A3010 myself, did a few basic programs on them too, inbetween playing dune 2...

Yeah I find myself savvy in java, I can follow/diagnose C without much hassle, its just since Uni looking to do something to prove my ability hasnt dropped/is up to date...

That way when things pick up, I can hopefully be first up the ladder.
