Hey folks, still on the "advice" bandwagon at the moment.

I was looking at getting a TT with my build I'm doing, but after reading a lot about their new heatsink I'm tempted to go for it. However, one big thing that worries me about it is the lack of any kind of bracing behind the motherboard. I think it comes in at about 560g without the fan. Is this safe to mount as standard without any backing/bracing plate behind the MB?

And if you have any other suggestions, go ahead and throw them in!

Personally I wouldn't be happy mounting a 120mm HSF without a backplate. Not only that, but I'm sure you get a better contact between HSF and backplate than with the Intel push-pin method.

My next fan (pending on more reviews) is probably going to be the Xigmatek Achilles + Crossbow.

Well, I ordered one. After checking and seeing that the Zalman 9700 (cant remember the exact code of it) that I was using on my previous setup was about the same weight and I have had no problems with it in the past, I felt a little safer.

Hopefully it is as good a cooler as it is made out to be!

If not, I'm sure I shall survive.

Do you mean you ordered the core-contact freezer, if so, can you tell me if you ordered it from the uk (don't mention where, just if you ordered from the uk).
As I would be interested in ordering one also.
