I have really bad sunburn, because I spent 5 hours in a pool on a blisteringly hot day. With no sun cream on. For about 2/3 days I was in agony, and now it looks as if top of my shoulders is moulting.

It's really horrible, D:.

Please share your sunburns! It'll be interesting and morbidly humorous to hear your stories as well.

Many moons ago I spent a day at a Waterslide park in the Algarve & forgot to frequently re-apply sunscreen. As a result my back was so badly sunburnt I had to sleep on my side for a week. The rest of the week when I went clubbing (I was 21 at the time) everyone kept asking me why I was so miserable.

I went to the Renault World Series at Silverstone last Sunday. Had a face like a lobster for three days and bits of it have been flaking off for a good couple of days now.

Florida I can understand, but Northamptonshire on a cloudy day?

When I was in florida my shoulders got quite badly burnt. Sleeping was a total nightmare and when awake I had to put ice packs on to make it bareable.

I once went on a boat trip in NZ and forgot my sunscreen, I was told my neck was burning so turned my cap round to protect my neck. Applied after sun all over in liberal amounts when I got back but still woke up the next day with a forehead that was completely covered in little blisters, it was like having a novel written in braille on there. Once also needed to go the hospital because of the number of blisters on my back after falling asleep in the sun in Cornwall. Not fun.

I never learn and am continually forgetting my sunscreen, idiot.

I got lightly crisped at Wet'n'Wild a few years ago. I forgot to put any sunscreen on the top of my feet - they got burnt and I couldn't walk in shoes for about two days.

I hope after sun cures skin cancer. ;)

My sister in law in married to a right lap dog. She loves to sun bathe, and he well, he must sit by her side to keep her company during her sessions.. Anyway the muppet is of Irish origin... Down in the South of France a few yrs back, he had to be taken into hospital with 3rd degree burns... Poor sod now sits under an umbrella besides her. Cos he's still required to keep her company. She even stretches her fingers wide, to get an even tan... So funny to watch !

Ha I went both days but remembered the sun cream and cap. Also I had the camera to my face most of the time :D

I got some bad sunburn in the Dominican Republic last year, skin was falling off and the itch?!?! oh. my. god.

It felt like I had thousands of things crawling under my skin and could do nothing about it. :(

Suggestion for avoiding sunburn, P20, once a day sunscreen that really works

If you do get burnt get some Lidocaine (over counter) it is a local anasthetic and will stop the itching. When in US and places like that youc an get aftersun with it already in, you cant in the UK though as its a pharma dispensed drug here.
