In general use, Stock Samsung + Quick ICS + Dolphin all feel very smooth and fast in use.

Chrome beta is on steroids - but could do with a little refining when scrolling around - drops framerate - same with normal Chrome.

Firefox Beta - don't really use it as it feels slow and jittery.

HTC one S stock 4.1.1

Stock sense browser - 1060ms

Haven't tried any other browsers as the sense browser is the most complete browser overall for me:

- text reflow (pinch to zoom and double tap to zoom) works the best (on ICS other browsers worked great but the JB update messed that up)
- quick thumb controls, which have been tweaked to work even better than the likes of quick ics etc. imo
- fast and smooth, dolphin with the jetpack addon is a bit quicker
- UI on the whole is very nice

And most importantly it actually renders the text/pages properly unlike chrome, opera and firefox! :p

I tested my daily driver (Opera Mobile) along with the current favorite (Chrome Beta) add well as some more obscure browsers... here are my results:

Opera Mobile: 1112ms
Chrome Beta: 876ms
Maxthon: 1055ms
xScope: 1018ms
Angel: 1055
Boat: 982ms
Ninesky: 986ms
Skyfire: 1009ms
One Browser (Formerly iBrowser): 984ms

Chrome beta seems to use the old javascript engine but uses high cpu utilization/more threads to achieve the better results.
Its still the worse browser on Android, they should just break/remove a few minor bits for higher scores like IE and safari :p

(Sunspider is a bad benchmark for comparing/looking at general performance)

^^^ Just a bit of fun and nice to compare everyone results.

I've added a couple of other benchmarks using Google Octane & Mozilla Kraken.

Vellamo's quite good now, lets see what you all get! :)

There seems to be a better correlation between these scores and end user experience over pure javascript tests (i.e Opera won't finish Octane but is much smoother and renders pages correctly over Chrome etc)

HTML 5 (default web engine)
HTC One S (S4) = 1790.
Nexus 7 = 1324.

Metal:
HOS = 650.
N7 = 388.

Advanced video:
HOS = 61 (end boat vid stuttered and stopped playing)
N7 = 50 (the four fish vids didn't run but the boat was perfect)

Vellamo looks intensive - Good shout sarge. (Qualcomm biased? ;))

Vellamo:

HTML 5 (default web engine)
SGS3 LTE = 1696

Metal:
S3 LTE = 548

I'll do the rest of the test later on :)

Qualcomm biased? ;)

Possibly :p ...but it does match what I experience. The SGS3 (Exynos) and HOS deliver the same experience, both are noticeably smoother in app than the Nexus 7, which is still a good performer.

I like the 3G/4G network emulation and cache/cleared cache on the page loading tests too, so much more realistic than everything else.
