1 - How will it run on my rig:

3 screens (only 2 will be used):

1280*1024
1680*1050

NVidia 6800GT @ 398/1150
AMD X2 3800+ @ 2.5Ghz
2GB Geil value RAM

2 - How much should I be paying for it (not where to get it)?

Many thanks guys.

what I want to know is, can I get it to use two adapters? ie my old x700 for one screen and the x1900XT for the other?

No idea on the dual screen thing, as I only have one.

Kinda makes this post pointless thinking about it.

i havent tested 2 screens myself yet, but i'm running it on an x800xt, so the 6800gt should run it fine on one screen at least, may have to lower settings to run two screens at those resolutions though

Thats pretty much my setup. (I have a 6800GT) - I've only played the demo, but that ran fine on 1280x1024 with high graphics. By some accounts you might struggle on the big maps in the real game though.

I've got a pretty similar system to you:

X2 3800+ @2.4GHz
X1800XT 512MB
1GB atm
Raptors Raid0

running on 1680*1050 & 1280*1024 and it seems fine, although I've only played on a 2player 10km*10km map so far (just got it this afternoon) but everything ran smoothly.

I have another gig of ram sitting in a box, but that makes it single channel and only gets a 2.3 rating from vista. the 1GB gets 4.5, so I'm not sure which is better to use really.

I run a AMD A64 3500+
1GB Ram
256mb 6800GS

Fine with small maps and on the campaigns, but on skirmish the frame rate dies horribly once there is about 1000 units on the map. Which should i look to upgrading first for the best performance increase? CPU (to X2 4200) or GFX?

Got about £150 to spend total.

For what it's worth, on the demo first campaign mission I was getting about 20 FPS using a 3200+ @ 2.4ghz.
Swapped it out with a x2 4200 @ 2.5ghz and now get about 35-40 FPS with play feeling a lot smoother for it. Always use low detail, it's completly unplayable for me on anything but low.
Also, have no idea what it does but switching vert sync to off seems to give me a few more FPS also.
I'm running a 6600GT and expect the game to fall flat on it's face as soon as the larger maps open up :( .
Upon installing the game it does reccomend a 6800 or better card.
As for what to pay for it, well 17.99 if your willing to wait 3-4 days or 24.99 on the highstreet/those unmentionable online shops.

Ive just started playing this (played the demo a bit), just finished the 1st Aeon mission and by the end of it i was getting about 4-8 fps, which is a bit worrying since the map wasn't very big.

My system is:

X2 4200
x1800xt
1.5Gb ram

Everything is at stock speeds. I was expecting to be getting a little better frame rates than what i am. Im running at 1280x1024 dual screens, changing the fedility presets between low medium and high doesnt seem to have much of an effect (bout 1 or 2 fps).

Anyone any ideas what i could do to get some more fps?

my ram is 2x512 Geil, and a 512 xms, the Geil was running in dual channel mode before i put in the other 512, will removing the extra 512 and running in dual channel mode help at all?

NO ! don't do that, the x700 wouldn't handle it, the 2nd screen is also 'full 3d' mode, the x1900XT will handle both screens easy, one card with dual out is what its designed to do...........it ran 2 screens fine on my old 7900GTX, awesome on this 8800GTX

Your ram is the problem, medium + maps and the whole program itself needs around 1.5gb run, i.e. bf2 memory needs................2gb MIN for S C (under vista its using 1.6gb ram, xp 1.5gb ram on normal game play maps (not busy, but with quite a few units built if that makes sense)

Been playing it allday @ 1920x1200 with full detail + AA and seem to be getting 30FPS plus until you get loads of untis onscreen and it drops a little. If you disable vsybc its still very playable @ this res for me.

Surprising as I only have a 7800GTX512!

Never known a game which you can make looks so bad yet still only get a hand full of FPS. Will prolly be a few years untill most if us get to play this game the way it's ment to be :(
Still im enjoying it, and playing it through on hard is well, very very hard. Took me 3 hours to do the first mission :o
