Hi Folks,
One of my colleagues is looking to buy his son (10) his first PC primarily to play minecraft and I guess school work. He would like to spend as little as possible and just needs the PC, he has a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.

My experience is much more in the high end gear and im not sure what to recommend.

He would like to spend less than £200,

What do you guys think?

His son is quite geeky so over the next few years it likely he would like to mess around and upgrade bits so maybe keep that in mind?

He would like to spend less than £200, buying off ebay is an option but I was worried about getting a lemon at that price point.

Buying off eBay is expensive believe it or not, people don't have much of a concept of what's good in terms of new components they're just concerned about getting money back on what the original value was.

The suggestion above is great for you, though £200 isn't very much.
