I'm looking for a stunningly quiet W/C pump. If you have one, and its quiet (not just quiet compared to some 80mm on a rad or something) please let me know!

In the loop it'll have CPU and GPU Rad, Res and possibly even a restrictive chipset block.

So far i've been recommended the Swiftech 600 and Swiftech 650 although I think the Swiftech 650 is the D4? (and so noiser than the D5\655).

Thanks

I'm using a Swiftech MCP350,and i'm well impressed with the quietness.
All I can here is the fan on my Arctic Cooler 5 and thats reasonably quiet.:)

I've heard anyone with a really quiet system that on anything over 3 the pump is quite noisy, obviously I dont want to pay big bucks for it only to turn it down to power levels of a cheaper pump

Minstadave, in your sig with the zalman mod did you cut the zalamn gpu cooler up and stick it on the chipset?

I got a old radeon 9800 with it on I might do, if it works passivly with no direct or substancial airflow?

I'm using a Swiftech MCP-350 and I'm not impressed. In fact I came in here to post the same question as BlackAqua. I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement pump that'll cut the noise levels.
I'm fairly new at water cooling and was under the impression that it was a solution to excessive noise levels. I have found that statement to be false as my system is now noisier than when on air, the saving grace is at least now my CPU/GPU temps are very much reduced.
Anyone have an opinion on wether the D5/655 outputs less noise than an MCP-350?

Nobody uses Eheim pumps anymore

When the airbubbles are out of the system after running a few days it is almost silent, I have to touch it to feel it working, but the vibration is annoying, I have my pump on rubber feet with screws and it still vibrates.

I have an eheim 1250, and I will agree with the other posters that the vibrations tend to cause noise, but placed on some foam I never have a problem with noise or vibrations through the case and would recommend it still.

EAF92_Brigstock is you pump physically noisey (Like you hear it when your holding it) or just rattling something?

I'd rather not get the Eheim 1250 as it needs external power

Anyone else have the MAG, 50z or the D5 and could say what they think?

How have you got it mounted, are you using the rubber grommits/foam pad that came with the kit?
Just asking as I can't hear mine...as some others have said about their pumps I have to touch it to feel it working.

The pump is mounted as part of a Swiftech MCRES1000P Resevoir & Pump combo, obviously mounted in a 5 1/4 bay. The noise being emitted is comparible to a very very noisy fan at full rpm. I haven't played with how the pump is mounted as there is little room for any modification. However I'm sure it is not vibration noise, as loosenin the fan mounts does nothing to the noise level.
Hearing others posting here about having to touch the pump to check that it's working has got me thinking. I first got the pump res combo as part of a kit. Going with watercooling for 3 reasons, reducing temps, a little bling factor and reducing noise. The first 2 reasons have more than met my expectations, the noise issue has been a little disappointing. I've recently added a GPU block and now I'm looking at changing the res and pump. The res will be a tubular affair mounted externally and I was going to get a different pump, however I'll try mounting the 350 on some foam first to see if that improves things.

Just a thought...have you tried maybe using rubber washers to isolate the unit from the 5 1/4 chassis, see if that helps cut down on noise/vibration.

Sounds like the pump is not getting enough water. Is there still air in your pipes?

Yeh agreeing with Timbers here, my 350 was kicking out a lot of noise. This was obviously due to the air in my loop so I just drained and refilled with nice new fresh stuff. Cut down noise a treat, but there is still an annoying droning coming from it. Very subtle, but it's there >_<
