I'm looking for a new case, and have narrowed it down to the Antec Super LANBOY or the Antec SLK3000B, they are both £35 and doesn't come with a PSU.

I'm looking for a quite case, and have read a few reviews of the LANBOY. I'm a little concern that the panels of the Lanboy may be a little bit on the thin side, and as a result, noises coming off the hard drives are quite audible.

What do you guys think, is it that bad?

Well my LANBoy is built, and to be honest its the quietest case ive used, yeah its thin but doesnt leak noise. With the 2 x 120mm fans, Xp120 + 120mm fan, HyperR 580w modular and 2 x seagate HDDs i thought it'd be deafening, but its not!

Really excellent case, and im more than happy with it :)

Looking good, madness. Great idea!
Think I'm gonna order one tomorrow and attempt to spray it black. I'll just take my time with it. Don't care if it takes me months as long as I get it looking right :D

so.. is this case actually good? is it strong and is it actually quite?

because im actually thinking of getting it.

and are there any good features that will make my head turn?

EDIT> im more thinking about the thermaltake armour with the 25cm side fan but OcUK doesnt seem to stock it..

EDIT2 o it does. but no 25 cm side fan

The case is strong and very light as its made from thin aluminium, my pc is very quiet with the loudest thing being my Freezer64 Pro.

As for features, the two 120mm fans that come with the case are very good for airflow/noise and the hard disk rack is good. Thats about it.

OMG, i want that in black!!!!!!!!!

Black is so much nicer :)

Great isn't it!
Gonna buy one when I get home later. I'm reading some more guides now on spraying PC cases. With the Lanboy being Aluminium I'm guessing it wouldn't need as much sanding down prep before applying primer?

 anyone?

From what I've looked into it, I think using self etching primer would be your best bet after preping the aluminium. It 'sticks' better to untreated metal than normal primer so there's less chance of it flaking or coming away.
Have a read here for some help: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7564579&postcount=4

Brilliant, cheers for that!
Think I'd get normal primer also for the plastic front bits. Eeek, getting nervous just thinking about doing it :D

Yeh sorry never mentioned that, etching primer for the metal, plastic primer for the plastic. I'd also probably go for a satin black for the main top coat rather than a mat or glossy finish.
Good luck with it, still trying to convince myself to do it. Priced things up for what I'd all want to do and total price inc case ends up just over £100 :( Although I'd end up with a unique modded Lanboy its a bit to much when I don't really need a new case, and could spend it on something I'm going to see gains from.
Wish I'd never found that pic of a black one as its soooo tempting to just do it!!!

What were your plans, Dale? I'm guessing a bit more than a paint job for over 100 quid :D
