Hi,

Currently have a SuperLanboy which is a great little case with some neat features. Don't particularly want to get rid of it however in order to fit a potential new graphics card I may have to either butcher it or replace it.

Wondering if anyone here had any experience of modifying the hard drive cage in order to fit a card; ie would you attack it with some tin snips or simply remove the thing completely? :)

Cheeeeeeers

How many hard drives have you got in there? Do you have room in the other bays for them all?

My vote would be to completely remove it if its easy enough.

PK!

Depending on how many hard drives you have you could mount them in the 5.25 inch bays with your optical drive.

I loved my little lanboy and without moving the 3.5inch drive cage the longest card i could fit in there was a 7900GTX which is the same size as the 8800GTS i think

Ye, I love the case itself, fits in the small space I have and the Hard drive cage is a really nice feature, so I'd hate to butcher it up.

A few rivets is whats holding it but I have read that it also contributes a lot to the overall stiffness of the case, and so may become a bit wobbly; I guess the only way to find out is to get it out myself!

I only have the one hard disk so will probably just move that to the 5.25" bay when the time comes to fit the new card.

As long as you have the side panels on it should be OK.
It looks like the hdd rack is only fixed at the bottom of the case, if so it will not be adding anything to the rigidity of the case itself.

Yeah that is a possibility; if I want to have more than one hard disk I can cut out a sort of graphics card shaped hole and lose around one space for a drive.

Probably won't do that though now that I think about it so I don't ruin the thing completely :p
