Only just seen this, I don't own a Wii U but this looks great!

Super Mario Maker is an upcoming side-scroller platformer and game creation video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U video game console, scheduled for a worldwide release in September 2015. The game revolves around a level editor, in which users can create and play their own Super Mario levels based on Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. U, and share them online.

Got it preordered, ive always enjoyed mario games for a quick pickup and play 20 minute session, nothing to heavy or indepth but still fun that can offer the occasional challenge. And i really like the idea of user created levels that will be ranked by the community!

I've Pre-ordered it.

From what I gather, people who have played the preview copies, people like critics, they tend to make rock hard levels very easily but to make an enjoyable level, not so much !

I made an easier version of my first level as a few found it too hard

(concept based on a certain popular wii u game ;))

Played someones level and it was a tribute to sonic, even got the sonic music when you crossed the finish line :D

Not good levels by any means just me and my bro messing around with it

Not really enjoying it. Just goes to show how good Nintendo are at what they do because I've not played one level that is anywhere near the same standard.
It's fun for a bit but it's not Mario such as I enjoy.
Can't believe there is no two player either.

There are some great levels to be found alongside all the messy and gimmicky ones, you just have to know where to look.

I've been playing way too much - I'm hooked on exploring the psychology that goes into a Mario/platforming level, from both a creating and playing perspective.

I need to make some easier levels though, my last one only has a 1.59% completing rate. It's odd, as I find it easier than many real Mario levels.

Can't believe there is no two player either.

I never really thought about that, but Mario is traditionally a single-player game so I'm not surprised that they didn't implement multi-player in MM.

You can play it with 2 people, the other person uses a job pad and when you press okay the game switches to it. So one person create, the other plays.

I mean playing the actual levels. Mario is the only game I can play with my girlfriend, we have played the last few together all the way through two player and yet you cannot do it on this one which I find baffling.

They have had multiplayer (ala two players on screen) in many of the titles now including the excellent 3d World.

I see what you mean.
I don't remember old 2D Mario having 2 players mode though.

I made another one.

It didn't. Came in with NSMB on Wii I think. I tend to just pick out the Mario World levels as that was my favourite.

I can imagine that's a problem. There will be an abundance of amateur crap. Hopefully time will improve things.

You don't need to cheat the clock any more btw.

There's some article that explains how to unlock everything if you google (on my phone), but it's basically place at least one of every block you have access too, use all the different themes etc, then just place loads of blocks.

After you unlock something new there's a 15 minute cooldown where you can't unlock anything new, but blocks placed during that time still count towards unlocking new stuff.

The unlocking by days was removed in 1.0.1 or whatever patch the game is on :).
