Super Mario World - Help lol

Doubt any of you remember but.
I'm on bowser (last boss), how the hell do you kill him? You can't jump on his head, tryed throwing the enemies at him, hmmmm, it must be simple I just can't see how lol.

(Yes I mean snes version)

You have to throw the robotic koopas at him but they must land on his head to do any damage.
