Yup pretty good, a stock i7 920 take around 14.4ish, a stock e8500 takes 16ish i think. You are well placed with your OC.

My i7 920 OCed 20% to 3.2 runs 1M in 12.168 with msn yahoo sidebar and bbc iplayer playing the boss in background

i think some of the properly OCed i7 920's can get under 9 seconds for it. Significantly faster than me.

yeah seconds, i did have it at my highest overclock at the time, 4.2 i believe.

had to tone it down for summer so it 4ghz now.

it was a 1m run

No idea what i just did!
Result was 10.3 seconds on 1M test
(running and i7 @ 4ghz)

i7 runs fast times for its clock. Should be able to get sub 10 seconds without too much effort.

Yep, i7 got me a 9.86s run at just under 4.2GHz on air cooling - have reduced the OC since though, but nice to know that a sub 10s run isn't just the preserve of the uber OC'ers anymore!

amazing what diff a OS makes.
i get 10.741 on vista 64bit
on ubuntu 9.04 i get 8 seconds approx
less overheads i guess.....or better coding
