Super Pi performance test

I have an overclocked E6600 - it's been the best build of my life - still going strong since the beginning of 2007. The case isn't brilliant though as i've been experimenting with temperatures - I'm using an arctic freeze pro rev. 2.0 and been fairly underwhelmed by the performance (actually, I'm thinking of cleaning the stock MX-2 off the whole lot and sticking some AS5 on it), temperatures with the case open at this time of the year are around 42-43 c on idle and up to 62 playing something like Mass Effect 2.

I digress - I used super pi to test the heat but found that it must be an 'unstable' overclock as the first worker on core 0 stops working after the rounding error returns '4.9 rather than >4.0' Mind you, having said this, I've had this overclock (3.2 ghz) going for over a year and had no issues at all - solid 24/7.

Pi isn't actually a good reflection of how I use the PC and the fact that I have this OC running for so long with no issues makes me question the worth in raising the Core Voltage to see whether it eradicates the issue for this programme? Can anyone help? Will it adversely affect me if I choose to continue as is?

Last but not least, and it's slightly off topic, I have 5GB of RAM here (yes it's 64 bit) but 2 are matched pairs of 2gb CM2X2048-6400C5, and 2 are matched pairs of CM2X512A-6400 (I used them because they were just left lying around and I was tidying up) Trouble is, I don't know a whole lot about memory overclocking, save that the modules should be the same type to avoid underclocking (both are 6400... check) and a good ratio is 1:1 meaning there's no starvation of memory. If I check CPUz for the timings table, it states

JEDEC#1: 270mhz, 4.0, 4,4,13,15 1.8 V
JEDEC#2: 400mhz, 5.0, 5,5,18,22 1.8 V

I don't know how to interpret this, but I wonder if having that extra gb of spare ram is actually adversely affecting my performance?

It's windows 7, sorry for that and also I made a further mistake, it's prime 95 i was using not super pi.

Just to understand you, using the extra pair of 1gb ram will decrease my performance? (I just got the impression you thought that 1gb was one stick)

thank you.. I'm ashamed to say I learned something very basic in this conversation.... I had my original 4 gigs operating in single channel mode. Good god. :( Anyway, thank you for your help :)
