Super Short SATA Cables

I've been looking for some really short SATA cables as the SSD in my Prodigy case is right next to the connectors on the motherboard.

Having a look at the distance between the two, I figure 8cm would be comfortably long enough - I could possibly go to 10cm before it got too long for my liking.

Does anyone know if such short cables exist or how difficult it is to shorten a SATA cable?
 
Akasa do 15cm ones that freely available. Shuttle do very short ones, possibly 10cm but I've only seen them come with the units though.
 
I've heard the Akasa ones are slightly easier to shorten than others but yes, 15cm would still mean a lot of excess cable.

I don't have a picture of mine specifically, but here's one of an SSD mounted in the same place as mine is:

Anyway, the sockets on the motherboard are almost directly in line with the connector on the SSD and set approximately an inch in from the edge.
