super small power?

"how powerful do these little mini atx builds get?."

Please, read the topic Scott...

The smallest, most powerful mITX board (which is what I assume Scott is on about) would be a toss up between the DFI LanParty H55 and the Zotac H55-ITX-A-E, both of which are socket 1156, with enough space for up to 4Gb DDR3 RAM, these are generally considered SFF boards.

As for mATX (which is what you're on about) there are a crapload with SLi, Crossfire, Socket 1366, capabilities of up to 24Gb DDR3 RAM , so pretty damn powerful, though these are considered less as SFF and more as compact gaming motherboards.

To give you an idea of what you can expect:

- Lian Li V351, Rampage II, i7-930, 6GB DDR3, etc. etc. and you'd be able to get a pair of HD5870s in there too, that would give a very capable gaming machine.

- Moving down to miniITX, there's the Da Box 100 which would take an HD5970, so paired with the DFI MI P55-T3RS and an i5-750/4GB DDR3 would again give you a hell of a portable box.

- Moving even smaller to something like a Sugo SG05, you keep the same motherboard/CPU/RAM combo as with the Da Box but you have to drop to the HD5850 due to GPU size constraints.
However, the HD5850 is still faster than a GTX280 so it's certainly no slouch.
