Kinda random post but just visited my work HQ where one of the software devs spent a while showing me his new bolt on extra for his M3.

AFAIK he was overtaken by a M5 the other day and got abit upset.. and went out straight away and got a vortech supercharger fitted. He says the car is a real monster now and after proper map / setup she's pushing out 460bhp. (I think it cost between 2.5 and 4k fitted, can't remember)

I guess it's a M3 sleeper now :), it doesn't look any different than a average M3 (it's not a very new one), though has got some guchi 4 pipe exhaust system fitted which sounds ****** loud. He's already had a 'play' with a 911 and it could not shake him at all.

Here's a pic of what the engine bay looked like, the supercharger is HUGE, you can see it at bottom right of bay... this isn't his actual one but looked pretty much identical.

Apparently it's running only 5psi boost, which doesn't sound much, but another guy at the tuning shop was having engine internals changed to give around 750bhp!

Don't usually like cars but it's deffo one very special motor now!

Christ, I didn't think there was room for anything else inside the M3s engine bay! Any videos of it in action?

Hehehehe :p

If that includes fitting that is really cheap for that kind of car, costs about the same to supercharge mine.

I'm so jealous. How come a supercharger for an M3 is £2.5-4k, yet one for an Elise is £7.5k?

you could do it much cheaper than that i'm sure. that's just what people charge because that's what people will pay (for lotus owners at least).
