Got a 2.3 clk bit slow.

It's like every other forced induction car. Nothing for ages and then it finally starts to go.

I've heard their are two options larger crank or smaller sc pully.

What are the benefits and negatives?

Surely a crank would cause all accessories on the belt to run faster? Potentially damaging say the alternator?

Not like every other forced induction car. I had a supercharged SLK, it had all the torks from 1000rpm upwards. No lag at all.
There's something wrong with yours I think, since if I remember correctly the SC on that is always engaged? On my SLK the SC had a clutch and it only kicked in when it was required - and still, zero lag.

A larger crank pulley will cause accessories to turn faster, yes, but unlikely to damage anything.

The main plus of supercharging over turbos is that the power is there all the way across the rev range due to not having to wait for exhaust pressure to spool the turbo up.
Sounds like yours is broken.

As mentioned, a supercharged engine is always on boost. Or at least should be.

I think that these mercs have the kompressor supercharger, so that's a good starting point to investigate.

Bypass valve on the left was sticky. Freed it up. Closes the second throttle is applied now. And it closes properly

I'll see how it is on the way home.

Because 190hp in the heavy CLK body offers so much more performance than an ST220?
It literally offers the same performance. No where near as fun going round corners but acceleration is pretty much the same and that's with the autobox too.

And it gets like 300 miles to a tank compared to 200
