I have a late 2009 imac (as per sig) and the superdrive is on it's way out as it frequently fails to read or eject cd's and dvds. I was thinking about replacing it with an ssd as I have a external dvd drive for those rare occasions I need to put a disc in. I know the datadoubler things that you order from the states work well but I was wondering if one of the cheaper ebay/rainforest store caddy's designed for a macbook would work? Are all superdrives the same? Is there any reason a something designed for a mac book wouldn't work?

Cheers

Dave
