turn computer on for first time
MASSIVE rattling noise coming from a fan
turns out it's fan in PSU
turn on flashlight
see a component stuck in the fan >.<

HEY U GUYS I THOUGHT U SAID SUPERFLOWER PSU'S WERE THE ****!

anyway, unplugged it and pushed the component out the way with a screwdriver. seems to have fixed it and it was silent after that. just hope it doesn't drop down on the fan again while the computer is on...!

They are but things fail occasionally. I've got 3 without any rattles or problems, despite being run 24/7 for most of the time.

+1

I put one of the £30 Superflower PSUs in my mum's PC about 3-4 months ago, and it's been quiet and faultless since. Even Rolls Royce must get the occasional car that has a wonky component by the time it gets to the buyer every now and again. :)

If I had a Psu and had to push an internal component out the way of the fan, I seriously doubt I would continue using it. It would be straight back in the box and returned to whom ever I bought it from.

Shouldn't have touched it. Should have sent it back.

Now you've fiddled with it there is no reason for the retailer to replace it, because it works. And if it fails further down the line and they find out about your quick fix, you might have invalidated your warranty.

Hush hush.
