Superflower leadex 850W

Just ordered the above PSU for use in my corsair 450d.

Someone mentioned to me that the cables on superflower PSUs are quite short and might not reach if I route cables behind the motherboard. Does anyone know if I might need cable extensions - I wanna do my rebuild in one day so want to get all the parts I need ASAP rather than waiting for an extra 2 days for the bits to come.

All advice welcome.

You should be fine.the cable lengths are only gonna become an issue in full size towers

I have the nzxt 530 and all the cables are plenty long enough.

The only reason they might not seem long enough is if you run it with the fan facing down. This puts the 8 & 24pin sockets at outside edge of the case and effectively shortens their cable lengths.

Yes, that makes sense, mine has the fan facing up.

The 8 pin CPU couldnt reach the PSU when routed behind the motherboard so have got it dangling round inside the case.

leadex cables for the <1kw units are short imo, tight fit for my 650w in a fractal r4 especially that 8pin cable. Not very meaty either.

Also - another question. I specifically bought the 850W because I was led to believe that it would be sufficient should I buy another 980 down the line. However, superflower only supply one cable with 2 8-pin gpu plugs - is there any way I can order extra cables?

I think you should have another look at the supplied cables. There should be ample 6+2pin PCIe cables there.

You were, of course, correct. Many thanks indeed. In my excitement I wasn't looking properly. All I need to do now is get another Galax 980 SOC and I'm cooking on gas.

Although at 1080p 144Hz I'm not quite sure I need it yet
