Hi guys,

I've a Super Flower 750w leadex Platinum PSU and was thinking of doing a little cable work in my case re a cablemod set.

Can anyone confirm if the E series type will be okay (the EVGA cables)? I know that EVGA use a re branded SUperFLower PSU for some of their units.

As far as I know, they're not compatible.

There is a thread in this sub-forum somewhere about this exact subject, but my search-fu is weak today! If I find it, I'll link it.

You could always use Bitfenix or Silverstone cable extensions if you don't mind a bit of extra cable length. As you have a case that hides the psu then they would work just as well.

Cable extensions fit any psu's, I take it you meant a lack of cable sets put you off buying a Superflower unit?

To be honest I really don't see why people would buy Superflower really. The EVGA G2 series are basically the same psu with no led's, are usually cheaper to buy and have whopping great warranties.

Another vote for extensions, particularly if you go the custom route. So much more choice colour wise. A while back I got a few made up in red, white and black to match an Asus Z87 Maximus 6 formula board, set it off very nicely. Also you can specify what Particular lengths you require.

Seems like the extension route is going to be the best bet.

I can see the argument for the EVGA G2 series, but I'm a sucker for the led lighting on the SuperFlower. Also the white version matched my build colour scheme.

Whilst my set up isn't a full custom water loop, I'm still quite keen on getting everything neat and in sync. Changing the cables will be the final part of the build.

EVGA G2 is what I bought today, a 750W. By cable extension I mean exactly that, cable extenders. Previously CPU cables from the PSU have been to short to fit through my cable management so I have to run it over the MB and GPU and it's a scarey tight fit. Also my radiator and fan cover the CPU cable socket.

I made an OcUK order ages ago and decided to get CPU and MB extension leads. I can leave the CPU plugged in now and don't need to mess about removing fans and radiators to unplug the CPU socket. Something you know I might have had to do today when swapping PSU. So something in the SuperFlower thread lead me to think I wouldn't be able to use these cables and since I didn't need a PSU at the time I didn't look any further into it.

I guess it's bespoke sockets on a, SuperFlower PSU, not the cable ends plugging into hardware and devices that's the problem?

This is the, EVGA G2 I bought - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/evga...plus-gold-modular-power-supply-ca-012-ea.html
