Superflower PSU Cables

Ahoy.

I have a superflower leadex Platinum 1kW PSU.

Now I understand Superflower have their patent pending PSU connectors on component leads but are there any spare cables available for purchase separately? Or will they be available in the near future.

The cables seem to be reasonable quality, one with a useful 8+8 GPU connector lead, however I only have one of these, which was used to power my Titan X. I've since gone for 2x980Ti and wanted to get a second 8+8 cable to match.

It's not the end of the world because I can use 2 x individual 8 pin connectors that are also included in the kid, but that leaves me all outta cables now... Plus the cable routes are starting to get a bit busy...

Lastly, as fun as it is to have the LEDs light up on the PSU to show that I have them connected I'm guessing there isn't a way to stop this, without opening the psu and removing the LED itself? Which I presume invalidates warranty?

Cheers.

AFAIK, no way to stop the LEDs lighting up. Doesn't bother me too much as I gave up on aesthetic a while back! But yeah, I would hope they offer the option on future models.

I really don't understand why they have gone for single pci-e leads as most, if not all other manufacturers have a pair of 6+2 plugs per lead. Having only one per lead make's it harder to tidy the cables.

Those led's are the main reason why I will always recommend the EVGA version of these psu's. The 5 year extra on the warranty helps as well. I think it's extremely short sighted of them not to have a on/off switch for those leds. Not everyone wants tacky/blingy leds on all the time.

I had a meeting with SuperFlower at Computex, and one thing I discussed was the LED's. I can confirm there will be an on/off switch coming. As for the cables, SuperFlower are currently working on braided cable sets, we are also discussing the possibility of some Cablemod branded versions. Either way there should be something in the market sooner rather than later. Lastly, the warranty length has been discussed, and there should eventually be improvements on that front too :)

Great to hear that they are looking into cable sets. Regarding the led's, thankfully in my case the psu cant be seen. But i can understand the desire to be able to turn off the lighting as its not to everyone's taste.

Yeah thanks for the reply chug, I hadn't noticed your response. I would definitely be up for a (6+2)+(6+2) PCI-e cable for sure. I just hope they get them to the market fairly soon. It's getting tricky to keep the cables tidy with the single 6+2 PCI-e cables all over the place.
