My mining rig is now up and running, just about...

I have 2 x R9 290 cards and 1 x 7990 connected to a SuperFlower 1300W Gold PSU.

According to the power meter on the wall, it's pulling approximately 1310W already. The problem is, I have one more R9 290 that needs to be connected and I'm worried about overloading it.

The inner intelligent man inside me says I shouldn't risk it, but then I think back to 8Pack's recent record using one and how well it performed, maybe it's worth trying?

I loathe shelling out for another PSU...

Look forward to hearing responses.

Worth noting the 1300W is gold rated and not platinum rated like the 1200W that Ian used.

I wouldn't bet on it lasting long regardless at those draws though. Weeks maybe days.

You think the leadex gold would only last days drawing 1310w(~1150dc)?

Why would it be rated at 1300w if it can only last a few days at those loads before dieing?

I suppose it's because he is using MORE than the expected output constantly for long periods of time, whereas the PSU makers probably designed the PSU to be used at 1300W rarely, if at all.

All half decent power supplies are rated by their continuous power output. The leadex gold 1300w is capable of outputting 1300w continuously... for thousands and thousands of hours.

Btw, drawing 1310w at the wall is really only about 1150w load on the psu once efficiency is taken into account.
