Superflower Warranty - from OCUK, or from Taiwan?

I'm about to order a Superflower Leadex PSU.

The only thing holding me back is the lack of information on the warranty. It says 5 years on the Ocuk website, does anyone have any warranty experience with these products?

I'm just worried that I'll have to send the PSU back to Taiwan or something, if it goes wrong a year or so down the line.

How long do Ocuk handle the warranty themselves? 1 year? or the full 5 etc.

Any feedback would be welcome.

P.S. I did look at the Superflower website, I couldn't find any links for warranty claim etc, and as Superflower don't seem to have a presence in europe etc, wanted to ask here :)

All with us. :)

And to be fair, due to the reliability I am sure you will be fine! But if anything did happen, just let us know and we will sort it out for you!

And it's shipped :) Great service from ocuk as always!

Hopefully this unit will be as reliable as my Enermax Galaxy 1KW - had it 6 years, still running well. Only replacing it due to it not being compatible with Haswell CPU's, plus it's 220mm in length, really huge and rather inefficient compared to these 80+ gold psu's :)

What makes a PSU compatible or not compatible with a CPU?

As long as it has the right PSU connectors for the board - and a reasonable power output for what you require, there isn't really any "compatibility" issues surely?

The compatibility bit is to do with Haswell's new low power states. Something to do with sleep states if I remember right. If you turn your pc off instead of putting it to sleep it would fine.

Yea, the Haswell compatibility boils down to the PSU being able to provide 0.5w at the deepest 'c states' of the haswell CPU.

I've heard several reports of users having blue screens and other problems related to their PSU, even when disabling the c states via a bios option.

I also wanted a smaller PSU - my Enermax Galaxy 1KW is a monster, over 220mm in length, doesnt have native 8pin PCI-E connectors, has lower efficiency due to being made before the 80 plus standards came out etc.

The Superflower just arrived, will set it up later and report back :)

Thanks for that explanation ( I had googled it in the intervening time too, and found the same thing but hadn't had a chance to come back here and post).

I was looking at the 750w and 850w Superflower's on OCUK and they don't specifically say Haswell compatibility - although they do state - Support All Intel/AMD Multi-Core CPU & ATX/BTX Compatible Motherboards

Not doubting 5UB in the slightest, more out of interest whether these have the Haswell particular sleep states (which imo the above statement doesn't verify)

(Even on Superflower's website they don't specify one way or the other, even on the Plat 1200w, they just have the same standard line)

It states it's Haswell compliant on the box I received today :)

They also state on their website that all their PSU's are haswell compatible:

Got the PSU installed, very impressed so far!

It's extremely quiet, plus it has completely eliminated ALL the coil whine from my HiS 7950 boost edition. The difference in noise is like night and day!

Also, was very surprised when the PSU turned out to only be 18cm (180mm) in length.

On the OCUK website it's advertised as 200mm, plus in all the reviews I saw (techpower up etc) they mention how it's the same chassis as the higher capacity leadex's.

I guess Superflower recently made a much smaller chassis for the 750w, possibly 850w? Turned out well in my case, so much more room now! My old PSU was 220mm in length!

I'm so impressed I may do a mini review here with some pictures etc :)
