I'm wondering if this is possible, I have a VM SuperHub that I want to run in modem mode, but I would like to run that to my switch (ZyXel GS1910) and then I would like to be able to connect my Asus 56u to my switch and use that as my wireless router.

I had it all physically connected up, and it worked in as much as I got internet connectivity, I however couldn't wirelessly access any of my networked drives on computers that were connected to the Asus 56u router.

Is there anything I missed that got in the way? As for now I have just put the Asus router between my SuperHub and switch just so that everything is functional.

Thanks!

If you want a switch directly behind the superhub then it'll need to be configured as a router.

Configured as you describe anything connected to the switch would be on the WAN side of the router and will be going nowhere.

If you're just after better wireless then you could configure the Asus as an access point and leave the routing to the superhub.

Thanks for your reply.

The main issue I've had with the SuperHub has been performance related, I don't have it modem mode yet, as I want to sort this out first. However I also much prefer the Asus's config for setting up routing too.

How would I go about configuring my switch as a router? It's a managed one if that makes any difference.

You don't. It's a switch, managed or not.

You either need to leave the Superhub configured as a router, or have it in modem mode with the Asus connected to via it's WAN port.

Ah, so I can't have it set up without the Asus router being in between them both?

Having the Asus as an AP might end up being the better solution then. I am assuming there would be no issue with using the ethernet ports on the 56u either so it functions as a secondary switch?
