Not gushes. I am just still able to enjoy the show for what it is.
Just second, never made it at the weekend. Had football training on Sunday in 28°C heat and was too shattered after that.
I liked some parts, disliked others - particularly......

I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. I thought Nicholas Hoult did well with what he was given, but I went in with quite low expectations based on it being a fun action flick, but somehow I was let down anyway. Unusual for me because I'm always up for a bit of brainless fun cinema!
I thought they were going quite heavy handed on Superman being a bit lame, beaten in the first 2 minutes, constantly outwitted and outplayed, impulsive (I get they were trying to make him more human), pretty much always on the back foot and depicted as weak. I don't think I saw enough of his strength to then feel for him when they find an Achilles heel because Lex always had the upper hand. It felt like just watching him getting a pounding for most of the film. I also found my eyes rolling a lot during the scenes with Lois, bit too hammy for my liking.

Was meant to go and watch I know what you did last summer remake but thinking to cancel and watch Superman again for a second showing

Having read some comments and watched The Shadow's excellent link regarding the extra characters I think I will go and see it again
I do think they over emphasised Superman's weaknesses though, so we'll see. I still love the bullet to the eyeball scene!

Saw it and was very disappointed in this. Didn’t mind the new actor for superman but it was an appalling script and didn’t like the jokey direction this has gone down. I don’t mind a bit of humour but this was just stupid. Massively preferred Cavills superman in every way.

Wasn't sure whether to see this or not but I ended up going tonight. I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as Gunn's other superhero films. I quite liked the tone of the world and thought the casting was generally pretty good (Fillion as Gardner was fantastic) I liked that it wasn't another origin and felt like a comic book story. It felt a little too long and some of the later fights got a bit boring. Superman fighting is kind of dull, it was more fun when he was with the other characters. Watching invincible people throw each other into buildings gets boring very fast. Hoult was an excellent Luthor.

Anyway I'm not gonna lie definitely add +1 to my review cos I've been thinking a lot about it and I wouldn't even mind seeing another goofy comic esq. Film with maybe even batman or something else too... All these weird 70s side characters too. Comics are lol.
I'm kinda sad we never get to see space Israel planet krypton imagine what a super space nazi place that would have been lol.
That entire Kal El sent to Earth to conquer/sent to help plot line was so contrived and honestly i burst out laughing when Lex fixed his broken recording..... The way the public of Metropolis instantly flip flop from love to hate lol. His dads give you the tools speech... Jesus Christ I know it's a comic book film..,. Super mentality unstable 1st time I've ever seen the second half of my parents speech and I go into existential crisis, never mind the 30 or whatever years of service I've done for humanity my Nazi dad said I should be a douchebag...
At least we got to see real RussiaIsraeladovia invade the poor "I have no shoes" land of racial people. Lool
