Superman: Legacy

Still not really inspiring me to want to watch it (when it's available to rent/purchase/free online). Again, that first shot, already fails in one basic aspect; they added some vfx to show the whistling blowing the snow away, the string of blood from Supermans lips remains unmoving; so a fail on physics test there right from the bat that wasn't corrected (besides the fact that Superman had the wind knocked out of them, so how they were able to suddenly whistle is anyones guess). The rest, not really much new, so nothing really new or different that inspires me to want to watch yet still.

Physics lol. It's a movie based on a comic book. It's not meant to be real life.

Suspend your reality goggles and just enjoy it.

That's just krypto. He is an excited puppy at the end of the day. Happy to see Kal El and want to play. Can be like that in some of the comics too.

He obviously can't understand what he is telling him.

That's only valid up to a point.

I love sci-fi and fantasy so I'm well versed with doing just that, even with silly stuff that isn't supposed to be taken seriously. Sometimes a thing is simply so poorly executed that regardless of genre or source it's impossible to turn a blind eye and keep eating popcorn. Frankly, the entirety of what I've seen so far is shockingly bad and entirely unappealing, it looks like steaming hot poo.

Most of what I've seen i like the look of and the Silver Age is my favourite era, so I'm really looking forward to it. Though there are many stories from that age that are frankly so weird and silly that even as a comic they are very OTT.

I dunno, to me the dog looks out of place in live action. Obviously it works for comics and cartoons but live action imo it doesn't fit that well. Maybe it would look a bit better to introduce it first without the cape then give it the cape later in the movie?

Guardians humour just doesn't work for Superman, looks fine visually but I feel it's going to be yet another miss in the DC legacy of live action
Yeah, todays audiences are much harder to obtain vs before if the film carries lots of illogical mistakes or tonal inconsistencies with what is expected; no one of any established franchise likes the "subverted expectations" rubbish unless if it's done REALLY well (which usually means doing it as the side project to the main story before easing it into the main story, not the main story right from the get go like what happened in Last Jedi).

My guess on what it makes would be 300-450M, with it being nearer the 450M mark. Not a total flop (as there's enough Superman/DC fans who will give it a chance and might be able to keep it up) but not enough to make it close enough to being profitable or a hit, especially after the initial surge of fan support ends and word of mouth helps end further support from the general audience.

I think it will do well with die hard Superman fans and also those comic fans that are familiar with the silver age and everything that goes with it. Anyone who only knows the Synderverse will likely hate it, its the polar opposite of that world and part of a world that gave Jimmy Olsen Super powers and made him a baddie for a while too.

It also saw Superman gain super intelligence and able to invent new powers when he felt like it as well as sneezing a solar system out of existence. So I feel Krypto is the easiest and most normal part they could bring to screen.there was also Beppo the super monkey and other super pets. Supergirl was added and 60s silver age was also full of 'campy' storylines.

Same is likely for the Supergirl movie, Krypto will be in that too and the story its based on is certainly a good story but whether it translates well to Screen is another story.
