Who makes the best supermarket doughnuts ?
I have been testing them out this last month, and without any doubt it Morrisons, custard or jam, they are by far the best doughnuts

I quite like ASDA's doughnuts from the bakery, especially the fresh ones :D I've only tried their frosted, custard, and chocolate ones but they're all great. The box of mini chocolate ones you get for like £1 are fantastic to scoff while gaming too.

I'm a tesco jam doughnut fan. I think they're the best there is... :) I had a doughnut here yesterday, it was crap. It made me think about the glory of a simple tesco jam doughnut.

Man I am hungry now.

Asda's american ring glazed doughnuts, when fresh are the best thing to those overpriced krispy kremes I've ever tasted.

I have gone off, filled doughnuts as no one imho never have consistency.

All I know is that Tesco doughnuts are Yanky style Crap, Even the Jam ones have that soggy style about them.

Verdict = Dismal Doughnuts. :(

Tried Co-op custard last weekend following the recent thread about them (zapped in the microwave for 10 secs to gooify the filling - thanks to loltim for that one!). Verdict: small, but a good ratio of filling to dough and very tasty filling.

Might have to give those a try as Co-op is the nearest shop to my house. I can't stand it when doughnuts have that really "congealed" kinda custard inside though, where you can clearly taste and see that they didn't mix the powder right and it turns out kinda lumpy or just seeps through the doughnut.

Would be interested to know if anyone here has made thier own. I'm a right pie and wouldn't mind having a crack if others have found it worth the effort.

Morrisons do make the best Doughnuts by far, but it seems that each store has its own way of putting suger on them. The one closet to me, uses a light sprinkling of icing sugar. Where a few others, have the normal caster sugar, which makes them a bit more crunchy.

Tescos here for donuts - had from Asda, M&S, Sainsburys before

But for cookies it has to be M&S when they are fresh from the oven :O
