Hi,
I am really getting a bit stuck now.
I have a 1U server with a Supermicro X9SCM-F-O motherboard in it and an IBM M1015 SAS card.
Without the SAS card in the server I can enter the motherboards bios and boot from an optical drive.
When I put the M1015 card in I cannot access the motherboard Bios or the M1015 WebBios (I can access the Preboot CLI). THe only way to access the WebBIOS is to put the card in another machine and disable everything on the motherboard. I set the 4 drives in to two raid 1 arrays doing this last night.
Now I need to get the server to boot from an optical drive in order to install the OS but it just sits at the end of the M1015 BIOS message as if there is no bootable drive present and will not enter the motherboards Bios at all.
IPMI access with a virtual drive mapped also makes no difference.
Can someone please advise how I can get an optical drive to boot with the SAS controller in the machine. I am hoping it is a SAS controller setting or motherboard setting that is tripping me up.
Thanks
RB
