Any reason to go for the more expensive one? The 10 yr warranty is appealing . I pretty much game a lot, and want to get in to some video editing.

I have bought a lot of new coponents recently, that I don't want to trust my Corsair CX after doing a lot of reading.

I believe the G1 is based on the FSP Aurum whereas G2, P2 and T2 are all built by Super Flower and are basically a Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium with no LED's, a different fan and 10 year warranty. So the G2 is definitely worth the extra over the G1 IMO.

With the following specs:-

Z77 3dh mobo
i5 3570k cpu with h60
gtx 670
8 gig memory - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/corsa...my-203-cs.html
win 10 64 bit

I have just purchased the below:

Be quiet Pro 900
GTX 1070 FTW

Why on earth have you gone for such a overkill psu? A 550w would have been more than enough even with overclocking. Even if you decided to upgrade to a Kabylake i7 you would be pulling even less power than your 3570k. A 650w would have even been fine for 1070 SLI.

Ah this is only the beginning, I intend on having an insane rig in 6 months time!

I am a proud owner of a T2 1000 and couldnt be happier. Read the jonnyguru review. It has less than 10mv ripple which has only been equalled by the 650w Seasonic prime. The braided evga cables can also be bought (thought expensive (cost me 80).
I always buy the best PSU money can buy. It would either be this or the Seasonic prime equivalent.

I went overkill with mine but the reason why was I thought about R9 290 crossfire, if you want to save some money consider a 750w unit as that would power SLI 1070 easily enough.
