Hi All

I need some advice here!

I have a 01 Thundercat which I use everyday in all weather and being honest it gets a wash every 2 weeks. My mate is selling his 06 zx6r. I like the bike but I'm don't know if it will just get ruined being used everyday?

I don't want to buy it and then regret it

do it,aslong as you look after it it will be fine,i ride my zx10 04 all year round since ive owned it,still looks fine, just keep eye on the usual things like wheels/calipers wash them off regularly ect

For work it's about a 20 minute ride each way but apart from that I use it for weekend blasts (when the weather is ok!)

I find the zx6r more comfortable than other supersports I have tried.

Really good for filtering with cause so narrow.

Do it, easy on petrol and a great bike that can do just about everything.

06 636 arent as stiff as the 03-04 so totally recommend for everyday

I bought a bike lift of a guy with an older ZX6 (2000ish) at the weekend, and it has just under 100k miles on it as he uses it everyday. It had 13k miles on it 5 years ago when he bought it as a Cat C write off.

I've used my R6 for the last 4 years in all weather conditions and apart from electrical issues and calipers getting a bit pitted on the pistons you'd never tell, Acf 5O, FS 365 & WD40 all help.

Only gripe was warming the engine to the correct temp before setting off, I could never set off from a cold start!

It's all fairly subjective to be honest. Up until a couple of years ago I commuted on my RSV every week, it was no trouble at all apart from the noise it made first thing in the morning which I'm sure the neighbours appreciated. Heavy clutch in traffic but apart from that more comfortable than a lot of so called 'sports tourers' I've sat my backside on. I washed and cleaned it from top to bottom, fairing removed style to get right into the nooks and crannies if the weather was bad and it got grimy and as a result it's still as fresh and immaculate as the day it left the factory in Noale. It only gets used for weekend blasts now but back then because I took good care of it, she still sparkles. Each to his own I suppose. I knew a guy years ago who commuted on a Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport which broke down regularly every few months and left him stranded by the side of the road. Still arrived at work (late, granted) with a huge grin on his face though. :)
