Supplements the debate/discussion thread

I was planning on getting from bulksuppsdirect probably (100 tabs, 1.5x strength of MP for £15). Any aid in sleep is what I'm after, natural test boosters are as far as I can tell snake oil tbh. Anything potent enough to make a difference will need PCT, and anything that needs PCT is an ethical gray area for me.

your still better off going for tesco's, if you want to waste cash by buying the exact same thing for more money, then go ahead, it may well be 1.5x the strength but its also 1.5x more expensive therefore making it the exact same. tesco is still 1/3rd of the price regardless of which deal you go for.

if you want pills to aid your sleep, the only ones which truely work are highly addictive and you end up not being able to sleep without them.

zma will help as much as it increases test, which is minimal at best.

i suggest you try tiring yourself out during the day, or waking up earlier than normal.

If you was going to get them from MP, then they also do their own combination of ZMA (Search for Zinc and Magnesium) So might as well get them cheaper either way.

The BSD packs are only 1 tab per serving, not 3. So 100 tabs = 100 servings, and they're 1.5x the strength :). Not so bad, 11p per serving if you scale it to the same strength as MP. MP works out to 37p per serving! Looks like Tesco works out at 9.4p each, intredasting. But I'd need a pill cutter or something to match the dose, not sure how important that is? Also is the Magnesium from Aspartate? I guess the A part of ZMA has some importance?

Thanks for the prices anyway Sonny, it's just a thought at the moment.
As for my sleeping, I've always struggled. My current routine is something like this....

Wake up 0745
Gym - 0815-0915
Work 0930 - 1730
Sleep 0000 - 0745

Now I saw sleep 0000 - 0745, but it usually takes me an hour or more to actually fall asleep. My mind is just racing from the day's events. I'm not sure I can tire myself out much more than 16.5-17.5 hour day including gym and work!

looks like those guys are offering a good all in one deal then, but as i say, for these small items, supermarkets are always the best to get them from. ive not looked into zma much.

i take opti men which has like 100 different vitamins/minerals in one, orange triad is also another really good all in one.

it has 30mg of zinc and 100mg of magnesium per 3 tab serving.

Could someone spec me some good fish oils. Heard things about DPA etc and I'm completely lost!

Looking to spend £20 roughly.

edit: also some whey protein as well.

360x Omega 3 1000mg - £9.89

360x Omega 3 1000mg with Lemon Oil - £8.89

Can't be beaten for price, much cheaper than myprotein too for the amount of EPA and DHA in each capsule. If you're planning on taking a lot (I take 6 normal caps and 4 with lemon oil each day) then I'd get one lot of each. If not just get the ones with lemon oil as they're cheaper. I'd just advise against taking say 10 caps of the lemon oil ones every day as that's a hell of a lot of vitamin E.

Gluatmine - worth it or not ?

I work out most days - love my shakes (Whey 3 times a day - but in lovely shakes full of fresh bananas, apples, rolled oats, and blueberries :) )

Wow, they are some good deals on Omega 3 right there. Was looking to get some more, so thanks a lot, save me some cash ;)

I personally like Glutamine as it has a range of benefits, as well as helping me recover from DOMS a lot faster, so I can go back to punishing myself more! :D

Myprotein is annoying me. Going for the 2x3kg buy one get one half price bundle, and that with the affiliate code with the flavoured version is bringing me £49.67. 33p short of the free shipping. Otherwise it's £3 postage.

Any suggestions? Can't see anything cheap on the site. :/

one is simply whey protein (fast absorbing) the other is a blend (various proteins which all absorb at different rates, including whey).

whey is best used in the mornings and after a workout, a blend can be used anytime during the day but is much better than just whey when used before bed.

use code MP432891 for 5% off your first order

Thanks, I honestly didn't know that :o
