Having used my friend's roccbox I have one turning up next week. They use virtue for their dough supplies and it was really nice pizza, but I wanted to check if that's what people would recommend for a supplier in the UK?

Still need to up my practice on stretching the dough and getting it on the loading paddle, but hey, time to practice!

Are you talking about readymade doughballs? Please don't pay a quid per doughball... make your own. Check ooni website for perfect neapolitan dough recipes, with either yeast or sourdough starter.

Adimaria for flours, tomatoes and lots of other toppings.
100% - Please note the site is down at the moment they are aware of it and working on it :)

Me and a friend buy the big 20Kg bags of flour and half them (normally caputo blue)

1Kg of flour typically gets me about 10-12 dough balls

And when it 1kg of flour, a little bit of yeast, some warm water and a sprinkle of salt.... Where's the justification for £1+ per dough ball?
Cost wise yer looking at what, 20p max per dough ball just freeze them in individual bags :)

for other bits I use regularly...

Pecorino Romana - Costco Own Brand

Tomatoes.. Mutti Crushed

Typically around a quid a can sometimes a fiver for 6 on amazon and I think both Asda and morrisons have started stocking them.

the next ones suprised me when we tried them..

Lidl
Mozzarella ... on offer every now and again, long thin blocks of pizza mozzarella in the blue packets, I normally buy a handful when its on offer and stick them in the freezer.
Provolone ... normally on offer at the same time as the mozarella (prefer the Piccante ) - Its normally a dairy heavy shop when these offers are on haha.
Wafer Thin Turkey Pepperoni ... goes really well and as its cut so thin goes nice and crispy on a Neapolitan type pizza cooked fast (I found thicker stuff still stays kinda raw)

Ikea
Seaweed Pearls - Like fake caviar haha, whack some of this on a seafood pizza n thank me later ;)

I do keep meaning to try a block of the taglio cheese from Morrisons to try on pizza

Have a watch of some of his vids as well, good channel :)

Wow thanks for the lengthy reply, loads of good ideas there! I've started off with the pre done balls purely for convenience - house is being refurbed at the minute and kitchen is getting replaced, so for now the convenience wins out.

I've got all of those shops near me with the exception of Costco so I'll have to explore!

Thanks again.

npyw

I tried some of the Northern Pizza pre made dough balls, they were alright (at the 50p in herons haha) Id defoo not be paying the £3 they normally are.

Followed the instructions and they just didnt stretch very well

Whilst it takes some practice and your first pizzas will probably be.. square, triangle or look like like naan breads its deffo worth making your own.

aye I used some of the bases cooked blind as naan bread replacements at the start haha
I keep meaning to try an actual naan bread recipe and see how it goes in the Uuni

Just practice is all tbh, youll get to the point that when u stretch the dough its nigh on see thru, drop it down onto the worktop and it traps air and sits like big bubble

house is being refurbed at the minute and kitchen is getting replaced,
you dont need a kitchen to kneed dough, I used to do it in a large plastic mixing bowl whilst sat watching the TV in the living room

you can get a bit of a fake sour dough taste by basically mixing flour water + yeast into like a batter consistency and leaving it over night to ferment, it's how bread maker recipes tell you to do it
