Hi,

I've had to rip my office out to make space for the daughters bedroom, now she is getting older she needs more space than the box room offers.

We are looking at replacing lots of stuff in there.

First thing is replacing the single panel rad with a new double panel + fins and using the existing pipework so needs to be 1m wide.

Electrics - convert single sockets to double and move one socket/or add a second double socket.

Lighting - Replace main room light + the dimmer switch as it's a little old fashioned and naff looking. Want to go LED with them.

I am also looking at adding some LED strip lighting, is this best to run from a normal plug sock as most i've seen seem to or can this be wired into the lighting system as well?

I'll also be replacing the carpet, skirting etc.

We want to have a nice choice of designs but don't want to break the bank so we are after suggestions for suppliers. Any suggestions?

My daughter and I wanted to build her a teenage mutant ninja turtle sewer base bedroom but we've been told under no under punishment of death. :(

Also, general suppliers of furnishings that are worth considering? I am hopefully build the bed from scratch but things like curtains, mattresses, cushions etc all need sourcing too.

found tesco direct good for mattresses

decide on the colour scheme
type in search bar ie green curtains / ninja curtains etc have a browse

Picked up a 120cm blackout blind in Homebase on Friday for £15.
Got to the til and it went through at £3.83.

How big is the room?

Can your daughter furnish it herself? Give her a budget to work with, I'm sure she'll spend ages on Pinterest etc.... putting ideas together.

thanks so far.

She's 4 and if it was up to her it would look like this:

which the wife has said no too, i'd be happy to do it. :D Wife is already on pintrest looking for inspiration.

I'm more concerned with the best places to buy things and prices over how it looks :) Looking at things that can improve the house price a little, such as decent heating, networking etc
