As you may, or may not, be aware, a campaign was set up in memory of a girl called Sophie Lancaster, who was beaten to death in 07 simply because of the way she dressed.

The campaign is called S.O.P.H.I.E (Stamp. Out. Prejudice. Hatred. (and) Intolerance. Everywhere) and I'm a huge supporter of it, having been on the recieving end of abuse and violence because of the lifestyle I have chosen. A band who I am friends with, called Beholder, recently brought out a single which can be bought on itunes - all of the proceeds go towards the S.O.P.H.I.E campaign.

I made this post just to make people aware of the single, which can be heard here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvJ8XJ9n_w8 (by the way, there is a little strong language in the song) and if you like it, please go to the itunes store and buy it to support this great cause. The title of the song is Beholder - Never Take us Down

Thsnks!

Congrats GD, derailed in 3 posts

Good cause, sick of kids picking on each other for looking different, let alone actually killing someone over it :/

I remember the news story well and was sickened as much as most people. I would support them, but quite frankly that track makes my ears bleed. Best of luck to the project though, they've got a almost impossible task to achieve.

And keep this thread on topic please.

Yeah, I suppose you'd have to be a metal fan to wanna buy it...

Could anyone be more specific with the story? Seems as if it passed me by, currently listening to the song, nice riffage, nothing special, but not bad at all.

Two goths got a kicking from some chavs at 1 in the morning in a park in Lancashire because they were goths. The lad survived, his girlfriend didn't.

This stuff happens all the time, no offence but imagine the total global charitys set up to stop these kind of things and yet violent crimes are still Rising. I think an alternative system should be put into place for people who think its acceptable to Kill simply because a person is different. like the Death penalty, simple really you take a life why the hell do you deserve one?

Well I still stand by my original post. Chavs are chavs, and aren't going to stop their anti-social behavior because of a charity.
