Supra MkIII Turbo

Had a naturally aspirated Mk3, was OK, very comfortable and they drive quite sweetly if they've been looked after. Hard to find an unmolested version these days and most are full of rust.

If there's no history, it'll need a new headgasket, uprated bolts and the correct torque setting for those bolts at some point. Toyota issued the wrong specifications for the head bolts so the headgasket can go with ease, if you're unfortunate.

Only real bugbear I had with mine was that it was lowered too much so tended to snag on everything.

Not particularly practical or slow, though :p. Rear seats are really only for short people, or trips.

Other than that, as mentioned, rust rust rust! Even clean ones can be absolutely full of it underneath, especially main chassis rails and rear strut towers. Get the carpets up or really get your head underneath with a good torch.

Lashout has covered it really - they rot like hell (in places you might not expect too, like inside the rear suspension turrets) and the good old 7M head gasket issue. Head gasket replacement is not straightforward either (particularly if the head has warped from overheating)

Very comfortable and solid feeling GT car.

Oh that's fine. Sorry could have worded it better I guess. I have a 7mgte myself. Just wanted to know what people thought of them :)

Bought an "immaculate" one of Ebay a few years back for £1200. Head Gasket went on the way home. As already said, very common issue. Great cars though :)
